#57: Homebodies @ Boat Quay {CLOSED}

*To much disappointment, Homebodies has ceased operations, just as this post was published! :(*

Recently, I have taken a liking to the word "Escapism". I believe that everyone needs some time alone, from time to time, to quieten down your soul and just enjoy me-time. Personally, I really like spending me-time at cafes. I have found one that is really a haven away from the noise and that is Homebodies. With its spectacular view overlooking the Singapore river and city skyline, you get to forget all your troubles and just boat-gaze your day away. There isn't much on the menu here yet, but all you need is probably an empty mind and a cup of coffee to enjoy the experience here.

Along the crowded lane of Boat Quay, it is almost definite that you would miss this flag hanging on the second floor. After cafe hopping for years, I must have developed a habit of glancing at every single detail of any building that crosses my view.

I was lucky enough to spot a hint of cafe above this distracting camouflage of a mama shop at the first floorth.

The interior is really nice, somewhat rustic, but somewhat homely.

Every angle is equally photogenic!

They probably have the best window view amongst all the cafes.

The Food

I ordered a Cafe Latte and they did a fine job with its Latte Art. It is relatively cheaper here but the size is proportionate to the lower price. It was quite light but it has a slightly acidic taste to it. I am not a fan of acidic-tasting coffee so I am really hoping they change their beans. For a new cafe, it is probably still playing around with its roast and I will probably be back again to test again.

{ In a nutshell }

Overall, I really liked Homebodies. Though it does not have the best coffee, neither does it serve hearty meals, I am biased because of its absolutely strategic location. It is hidden, quiet, peaceful and has one of the best views ever. I am looking forward to escaping here again the next time!
