As the name suggests, Cups N Canvas is a cafe where you can enjoy a cup of coffee and creating art on a canvas. It is located a short distance away from Laselle College and (rather) near Dhoby Ghaut MRT. It's pretty much an artsy place which serves great coffee and tasty mains. The service is good and they also have lunch specials! Definitely the place for students to do some work or meeting over lunch.

The Place
Free coffee with any pastas ordered, anyone? :)
As you can see, the right side is the main cafe area and on the left, it is where the arts area is. On usual days there would be seats on the arts side too.
A random mixture of vintage furniture and high tables, no rules and restrictions.
They also have an alfresco section. Not good on a rainy day!
The Food
Their Blanc Bacon Pasta was super awesome. The cream was perfect and had a light fragrance of the mushroom. The taste was just salty and not gelat too. It is one of the best cream pasta I've tasted around. It is so easy to find pastas which I could be sick of after 3 mouthfuls but I am glad to say this one isn't of them!
Btw, I have a liking for salty food so if this fits my taste buds, it could be slightly too salty for some of you!
I love their promo sets. I feel less of the pinch when I am getting a coffee free.
On another occasion, I also ordered their Big Breakfast. It was a spread. Each of the dish was good and I really liked their sauteed mushroom and baby potato.
My friend ordered a Greeno Pesto. It was well cooked but could have done better with a little more fragrance.
On another occasion, I went in for the lunch set and I ordered Crispy Chicken with Mushroom sauce and rice. The mushroom sauce was really good and the chicken was tasty. It was a big portion and left me burping (secretly) non-stop. Heh.
Finally, on the coffee! The Latte, was roasty and it left a bitter aftertaste in the throat. Could do with a little more fragrance but I somehow like their coffee quite a bit.
Till now, I haven't got the chance to taste their Sweet Potato Latte. I read it's good and the staff also recommended me to try. Will try that out the next time!
The Menu
The Companions
{ In a nutshell }
Cups N Canvas is unusual, not the kind of dainty cafes for a quiet afternoon, but one for a hearty meal and some artsy fartsy action. You should try the food out when you are there! Otherwise, the coffee would be just enough to make your day. Do avoid the time when they close up half the section for their art classes as there are likely to be too little tables around!Follow the tag #Cafehoppingsg on Instagram!
