12 New Cafes for Christmas Dates

New cafes are popping up at every possible corner of Singapore more quickly than I expected. It is not easily catching up and I am guessing it's probably the same for you! Before my cafe wishlist grows longer than Santa's beard, I am sharing this list of 12 New Cafes that I have been longing to go ever since their opening in the recent months!

If this list isn't enough for you, you could check out the previous lists we had, like 20 Cafes to Visit in Singapore5 Quaint Cafes in Your Neighbourhood, or the Top 10 Cafes for Valentine's Day! I am sure you would find somewhere of your liking in one of them!

Lowercase

One look at Lowercase is enough to make me want to head to this cafe straight. I really love the open concept and full length windows that allows full sunlight to fill the cafe. The environment seems really conducive for typing away on the laptop and I can already imagine the sound of peaceful chattering that is apparently conducive for your creativity and productivity. It is located pretty near Bugis and far enough to avoid the excessive city buzz! By the way, this makes me miss the once-buzzing 15 Minutes.

Working Title

Yellow lights and vintage looking furniture makes a similar concept as some other cafes around. However, this cafe seems to be getting quite a bit of buzz with its delicious looking desserts. I am really curious about its ice cream sandwich, one of those trending foods on the internet! The space is rather small, making a cosy hideout in the quiet afternoons!

Ronin

SO apparently, a new cafe has popped up in the quieter lanes of Clarke Quay and the cool thing about this cafe is that it leaves no traces of itself except for its pure existence. There isn't a Facebook or website or number to call and you gotta be there to experience it. I am guessing some might be feeling the inconvenience because of it, but if you are one of those suffering from socmephobia as much as this cafe, you would probably feel happy feeling disconnected from the world here. I know as little as you do about this cafe, so comment if you have anything to share!

OZ Specialty Coffee

OZ Specialty Coffee has just taken "hidden" to a whole new level. Located in the midst of an industrial area in the middle of nowhere Marymount and Ang Mo Kio, this cafe rouses enough curiosity for me to take a look at its charm! The coffee sounds really good and you could learn more about what they do on their page!

I Am

I fell in love with this painting when I saw it on I Am's facebook page. An artist walks out of its wall, but a beautiful painting remains. The cafe might be small but that makes the place for a quick coffee fix on your way to Bugis! The best thing about this cafe is that - it is Halal! Good news for our Muslim friends!

Craft Bakery & Cafe

If Holland V isn't happening enough for you, how about adding Craft Bakery & Cafe into the list? If you have a sweet tooth and have no fear about your waistline, we dare you to try their amazing looking sweets! They take pride in their desserts and they serve pretty neat latte art as well!

Backstage Cafe

Yearning for a quiet hideout that is less suffocating than the city atmosphere? You might like to hear this one that is hiding in the industrial area at Kallang Way. Opened just months ago, Backstage Cafe provides a comfortable ambience with high ceilings and spacious layout. They have been graced by visits of many Mediacorp artistes, and who knows who you might bump into while reading a book with a coffee?

La Marelle Cafe

I am giving La Marelle an A+ for its pretty interior. With its bold colours and cutesy designs, any girls would fall for it and be granted a happy experience there. La Marelle was originally a French retail store which expanded into a cafe as well. Backed by very talented designer slash artist(s), the makeover is more than just impressive. The cafe owner is really friendly as well and you really should check out its Iced Espresso, even if you aren't a fan originally!

Butterscotch

Just recently opened, Butter Scotch is sure getting a lot of positive reviews on its Facebook page. The delicious home made desserts seem to be the main pull factor. Since there aren't many cafes that offer Halal certified food, we are happy to share that this cafe is Muslim-owned and is suitable for everyone! Even though it isn't located at the most convenient location, the residents near that area should be very happy to have a cafe in their heartland neighbourhood!

Temporium Complements

Temporium is the temporary roof for something bigger. As of now, the surprise remains secret but the special concept of Temporium and its mere existence for 6 months (till next March) is something worth being curious about. Besides being a pop up store for pop up events, there is a special collaboration between Papa Palheta, Wild Rocket and Weekend Worker making Complements Of, a cafe that nests in the shophouse. It seems to be an artsy and peaceful place, so there you go, urban escapees.

Common Man Coffee Roaster

Things are getting exciting for the cafe scene in Singapore. With partnership between overseas brand Five Senses Coffee and Forty Hands, a cafe with expertise as its differentiation was born. Looks like they are much ahead given the crowd they have on the weekends! You have to take Common Man Coffee Roaster as seriously as they take their coffee.

Table 24

If you missed Crazyworld Cafe, and if you are looking for a more classy place, you might like Table 24 a lot. The same team behind the once-popular and very much missed Crazyworld, you could be reassured that the new cafe is cool as well. For the first time, fine dining is introduced in an unpretentious, healthy and affordable style. This just means, we gotta try to know!

  1. Hello there!

In fact, was about to check Ronin, but apparently the cafe is closed? Or maybe ceased operation. There's not even a shop sign outside. But everythings intact e.g tables, chairs, coffee machines inside. Strange.

  2. Hey E.! I checked instagram and apparently people are still eating in there.. Heh, maybe that's them being secretive and unpredictable?
