#23 - The Orange Thimble @ Tiong Bahru

Streets in the Tiong Bahru district are particularly difficult to find, but this cafe is easily located as it is just metres away from the Tiong Bahru Market, which is a pretty well known hawker centre.

Orange Thimble has the essence of vintage and modern combined, the interior, concept and variety of menu selection make it a very good cafe to visit. If you like to have some good modern coffee and cafe food at a good ol' setting, this is the place to go.

The Place

The cafe was surprisingly spacious, as there are 3 sections to it. There are 2 indoor sections and 1 outdoor section at the back.

The cafe was very thoughtfully designed and it made it a very comfortable place to rest and relax.

Also, because it is so segmented, you can get quite a lot of personal space in each corners and noise doesn't travel very well so you can enjoy the ambience in your quiet little space.

Not really a good idea to sit outside when it's a hot day..

The Food

I ordered a raisin scone, which is my most common selection.

It was warm and tasty, wasn't too sticky and it was quite soft. As usual, it went well with the perfect partners, butter and jam.

Another common item off the menu, Iced Mocha. It was pretty good, just sufficiently sweet and the coffee was nice. It would suit a lot of people's taste bud, as the coffee isn't too strong.

The Companion

Just myself that day!

{ In a nutshell }

Overall, The Orange Thimble was a very good find and I would definitely drop by if I head to Tiong Bahru again. It would also be a good hangout if you want to have a quick meet up with friends over lunch if you are working in the area.

  1. Hi, this place didn't has wifi and there are quite limited plugpoints we can find there the last time when we want to study. Just providing info to those who might want to study should go there earlier! The ambience is good though. ^^
