Commune Cafe is a cafe which serves great coffee and cakes. I have been craving for their cakes ever since this visit. It is located uniquely on the connecting bridges of Millenia Walk. For those who don't usually splurge on tea time, you should totally come by Commune Cafe for its economic prices. For cool people who works around this area, you could come in as early as 730am on weekdays for your morning coffee fix!

The Place
Most parts of the cafe was located on the outside and the only indoor part was the order counter with just 2-3 bar seats.
I liked how Commune Cafe was part of the walkways of a mall, yet did not appear awkward at all.
Half of Commune Cafe was actually an interior concept store. How I wish this part of the store was open for seating as well!
It was pretty nice to chill at this seating area. Though there is no ambience to speak of, it was a comfortable atmosphere and we were free to enjoy our tea time as much as we liked.
It would be a conducive environment to do some reading as well as the background noise is usually low.
The Food
I ordered a Caramel Latte and it was a good cup of coffee. What really stole the limelight, was actually the coffee cookie. It was really delicious, crispy and fragrant! It was so good I returned to the counter to get another 7 more to dip in the coffee. They sold 7 for a dollar or two.
With 4 sugared-tooth ladies at the table, we just had to get every cake to taste.
This Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Brownie with Caramel was really sweet, moist and soft. I really liked the texture and how the taste all blended in harmony.
We also had a Blueberry Cheesecake which was very delicious! The sticky cheese blended very well with the berry taste. I don't usually favour berry flavours but this one really made me go ga-ga.
Lastly, we had a Strawberry Shortcake which was soft and sweet. Somehow, I thought this one tasted better than the famous 1 Caramel one which I have tried. I am guessing the richer and creamier taste appealed to me more than the light and fluffy one at 1 Caramel.
Very much a delightful tea time!!

The Companions
{ In a nutshell }
I liked Commune Cafe quite a lot as its cakes left a lasting impression and I haven't stopped raving about its coffee cookies to my friends. The cafe wasn't exceptionally unique due to its location in the middle of a mall, but the comfortable atmosphere made me feel at ease with my friends. I would definitely urge you to visit the cafe for their cakes! I promise you would get quality tasting cakes and not feel a pinch at all because of its very affordable tax-free prices! :)Follow the tag #Cafehoppingsg on Instagram!

ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment, it tickled me quite a bit.
And yes, you got all 4Cs!
You really do like your latte, you order that at almost every cafe you go. The strawberry shortcake looks 10 times better then the one lady iron chef recommended which is located at tanjong pagar called Patisserie Glace. i didnt enjoy it at all.
