If you are looking for a hiding place, The Loft Cafe could be just the place for you. The ambience is awesome for a carefree afternoon and it provides a great view overlooking the busy roads of Chinatown. The variety of food is sufficient to satisfy a hungry stomach or just craving for sweets. It is a nice homely place for you to do your work or have hearty chats with your friends.
Located at one of the prime streets in Chinatown, The Loft is anything but rowdy. It is conspicuously, or not, situated on the second level of the shophouse facing the main street at South Bridge Road. If you are walking towards the famous Ann Siang Hill from Chinatown MRT, you would definitely come eye to eye with this cafe.
The Loft has a really simple set up but its view and ambience provides a really nice experience to its cafe hoppers.
Despite having high expectations for its menu, we felt that the cafe's strengths did not lie in its food and drinks. The Hot Chocolate was pretty much like Milo and that caught us by surprise. However we were delighted to see the pretty marshmallow decorations and it did send us in a whiz for photos.
The Buttermilk Pancake with Banana topping was soft and fresh, and the sauce added moisture and sweetness to the dish. Even though it is not outstanding per se, there was really nothing to pick on for this pancake.
